Our story actually began in 1974, when Joe Furjanic joined the radio Club at Carroll Jr. High School. That began a life long fascination and love of radio. Then, at age 17, he passed the test for his first FCC Commercial License and learned that Radio can be a great career.
Professional experience includes ten years teaching Electronics at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, and running their FAA Approved Avionics Repair Station, Broadcast stations, and 30 years in the pipeline and utilities industries.
During the last five years, while Lead Telecommunications Technician for the pipeline operations of Dominion Energy ( now Berkshire Hathaway Energy ), Joe discovered that there are very few new Technicians coming up through the system that know Two-Way radio and Microwave systems. Upon his retirement, he started American Radio Professionals to fill the void of knowledge, and to offer training to younger Technicians in the radio art.
